Description:
Between Zambia and Zimbabwe lies the Zambezi River which is tamed by a huge dam. The dam forms the extended artificial Lake of Kariba which is one of the largest artificial lakes in Africa. Lake Kariba has a large impact on the local climate and provides large amounts of much needed electricity to both countries. And employment through fishing _ vast quantities of kapenta _ fresh water sardines _ are caught providing a cheap source of protein to both Zimbabwe and Zambia.
